“ We ordered the Kimchi stew and Black Bean Noodle. The broth of the stew was well-seasoned however was disappointed that there was only 2 small slices of the pork. The portion of the black bean noodle was generous but lacked in flavour. Out of all the banchan served, we loved the mashed potatoes the most. They are generous with the banchan as you can request for a refill. Service was good and overall, we enjoyed the meal although it can be further improved. ”
“ We tried the dinner buffet (not the Korean BBQ) at Dong Hae II Korean Grill and Sushi and everything was delicious. The sushi was fresh, the Korean dishes were great, and I especially liked the tteokbokki and jjigae. It’s a little odd that Bibimbap and fried rice are included but plain white rice costs extra, but overall the food was very good. The owner was super friendly and even gave us free watermelon for dessert. We left feeling satisfied and happy and would definitely come back again. ”
“ Myself, my wife, and my sister-in-law ate here today, though notably it wasn't our original plan - we had planned to meet up and eat at a different East Asian restaurant, only to find that the place in question was closed between the end of their lunch hour and the beginning of their dinner period... which we were right betwixt. We discussed other options, with Dong Hae II being seemingly the closest to our original destination (both in cuisine and in terms of distance). I was immediately impressed with the service - it's easy to be attentive when there aren't many tables eating, and I counted only ourselves and two other tables, but the server managed something more impressive; his knowledge of the menu was without fault, and he did not "hover" around us. The food was similarly priced as other comparable menus, but I felt like it was significantly higher quality. No dedicated vegetarian menu but our server was good at explaining what could and couldn't be prepared in a vegetarian manner; I got a wonderful Tofu Yakisoba and my wife got a Rainbow Salmon Roll, and we got edamame and quite a bit of Tamago Nigiri (which I originally ordered for myself but after my wife tried it, she was enamoured). My sister-in-law got a fancy tofu rice bowl, but I am not sure if I recall the name correctly and I didn't get any pictures unfortunately. She loved it, that's the important part. My wife also has SEVERE Misphonia to the sounds made by Styrofoam, but our server went the extra mile and found us to go boxes made of plastic just for her comfort, which was very appreciated. I wasn't thinking about pictures at the restaurant table, but I took some of the fresh leftovers - Yakisoba, Rainbow Roll, Edamame, Tamago Nigiri. Overall glad that our initial choice didn't pan out - Dong Hae II turned out to be a great experience, easily as good or better than the other restaurant. ”
“ It was pretty okay! We were greeted and seated pretty quickly given the late time. Decided on several things to share with my friend. Friend and I enjoyed talking and got consistent refills on our waters. The food was pretty tasty, especially the monkey brains. I’d definitely come back to try some of their other food options! My only big issues were that my friend and I asked for a split check and were not given one, as well as the fact that I asked for cheese on my tteokbokki and was given plain. Simple miscommunications, however. They did not ruin the experience by any means! Price was higher than expected but not terrible. ”
“ A truly pleasurable eating experience. Sushi and Barbecue are one of my best I have experienced. Flavors and quality were top notch ”
“ Been eating at Dong Hae 2 every weekend for two years and had done both BBQ and normal serving. The food and service have always been consistently good. The price is normal for a restaurant of its caliber and the prices are listed clearly. The free appetizers are delicious and change, so there is always something new! Food is prepared quite quickly and comes sizzling in nice stone bowls and plates (meal-dependent.) The BBQ is clear and straightforward with you cooking your own food. If you have a bad BBQ experience, its your own fault! There is always a nice blend of savory vegetables, sweet and spicy sauces, and professionally prepared meats. For being in the Midwest, the sushi and fish are quality. A solid pick for experienced connoisseurs of Korean-style food and for newcomers! If you helps you, Dong Hae 2 is owned by genuine Koreans unlike some places in the Twin Cities. ”
“ Clean facilities. Fast service. The staff were very friendly and nice. We've been here twice already. I would recommend the large portion of KBBQ combo you're a group of 4. My favorite is probably the beef bulgogi and spicy pork. I would also recommended the dukbokki. I really loved the texture of it. Also it was not too spicy. ”
